Hi! I’m Mary!
I have a degree, 20 years’ experience and work with a ton of CPA’s so I know exactly how the books should look for the tax return. I’m not just teaching you data entry, but actual bookkeeping and the skills and resources necessary to be successful! I was (still am!) a busy Mom of an almost two-year-old and a brand new baby (although they are 13 and 11 now). I was working 60 hour weeks, missing my babies grow up, and after day care expenses and taxes, bringing home $500 per month! So, I quit my job so I could be present and raise my children. BUT, we still needed a second income (we had just bought a house right before we had our first baby) so I started my own bookkeeping business. Within a month, I secured two clients paying me about $1,500 month and I was only working about 20 hours a MONTH!
Within three months, I had secured another large client and several small clients. All I did was work an hour or two after the kids went to bed and was making $60,000 for about 60 hours of work a MONTH instead of 60 hours per week! All while traveling and raising my kids. My kids never had to go to a babysitter or day care again.
I was able to attend all their basketball, baseball, jiu-jitsu practices and meets. We hung out with friends and had lots of time to enjoy doing what we loved doing. Once my kids went to school full time, I started ramping up my business to the same hours as they were at school, but still had all the flexibility if they were sick (I didn’t have to call in to work or take a sick day), or traveling, or going to get my hair done (you still need to take care of you too!) so that way we could still have nice, home cooked meals without me being stressed out all time.
Priorities change, lives change and that’s okay. That’s part of the beauty of owning your own bookkeeping business- you can easily shift it to accommodate where you’re at in your life. You can work part time or full time and make good, consistent income doing so.
